Please read these terms before sending your LEGO to us. They set out how our buying process works and what happens if there's a discrepancy in condition.
1. Introduction
These terms and conditions govern the purchase of second-hand LEGO by The Brick Buyer, a sole trader operating in the United Kingdom. By submitting an enquiry or sending LEGO to us, you agree to these terms. If you have any questions before proceeding, please get in touch.
2. The Buying Process
When you submit an enquiry, we will review the information you provide and respond with an estimated offer. This initial offer is an estimate only, based on your description of the LEGO and any photographs you supply.
The final confirmed offer is made after we have physically received and inspected your LEGO. We will contact you to confirm the final offer at that point. You are under no obligation to accept at any stage of the process.
3. Condition Assessment
Accurate condition descriptions are important to a fair transaction. When submitting your enquiry, please describe your LEGO honestly using our condition grades as a guide.
LEGO matches description
If the LEGO we receive is in the same condition as described in your enquiry, the original offer stands and we will proceed to payment.
LEGO is in worse condition than described
If the LEGO we receive is in materially worse condition than described, we will contact you with a revised (lower) offer that reflects the actual condition. You may then choose to accept the revised offer, or request that your lot is returned to you.
4. Returns
If you choose not to accept a revised offer, we will return your LEGO to you. Return postage costs are the seller's responsibility. Where we have arranged and paid for return postage on your behalf, the cost will be deducted from any payment due, or invoiced to you if no payment is due.
We are not liable for items lost or damaged during return transit. We recommend requesting proof of postage from the carrier and, for higher-value lots, considering postal insurance.
5. Postage & Collection
You are responsible for arranging and paying for postage to send your LEGO to us. We recommend using a tracked and insured postal service appropriate to the value of your collection. We are not liable for items lost or damaged in transit to us.
Depending on your location and the size of your collection, we may at our discretion offer a collection service from your address. If you would like to discuss collection, please mention this in your enquiry and we will confirm whether it is possible.
6. Payment
Once you have accepted an offer, payment will be made by bank transfer (BACS) or PayPal within the timeframe agreed at the time of acceptance.
Payment will only be made to the person who submitted the original enquiry. If you are selling on behalf of someone else, please let us know in advance.
7. What We Don't Buy
We only buy genuine LEGO in acceptable condition. We cannot accept non-LEGO building bricks, heavily yellowed or broken pieces, or items that have been painted or glued. Please refer to our What We Buy page for full details, including our condition guide.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Brick Buyer is a sole trader. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with any transaction is limited to the value of the offer made for your LEGO.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from a transaction or from your use of this website.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from a transaction with The Brick Buyer shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
